***August 14th, 2020***
The Decatur-Adams County Parks and Recreation Department will be delaying the start of the fall youth soccer league practices and games for all three school districts until August 31st. The decision was made after North Adams Community Schools announced postponing the start of school and suspending all fall sports due to the growing number of COVID-19 cases in our area.
All decisions made due to the COVID-19 pandemic will affect the entire program (Decatur, Monroe, and Berne). We will continue to work with our local health department/official, and update you on the latest information.
This is a stressful time for everyone. Please understand, the health and safety of our community and the importance of getting students back to school (and keeping them there) far outweighs our philosophy to enhance leisure services through our programs.
PLEASE HOLD OFF ON ENQUIRING FOR REFUNDS OR CREDITS AT THIS TIME
With the new developments of having to delay the start of the season and overall uncertainty of this year’s program, the current refund policy set by the Adams County Park Board for Fall Youth Soccer may change. We will update you as soon as we can if any changes are made to the current policy.
We are all on the same team,
Decatur-Adams County Parks and Recreation
***August 13th, 2020***
Due to the continued concern of the COVID-19 virus, spectators will NOT be allowed outside their vehicles at any of the venues for the Parks and Recreation Fall soccer league games until further notice. This decision was made by the Adams County Health Department/Health Official to keep consistency for all Adams County sporting events.
So what this means:
Vehicles can park in the grass area around the perimeter of Homestead Park. Vehicles will not be allowed to pull up to the soccer fields and must stay behind the painted white boundary line. Spectators MUST stay in their vehicles.
Bellmont High School:
Vehicles must park in authorized parking lots only. Parking will not be permitted along North Adams Drive (main entrance) or in any grass areas. Spectators MUST stay in their vehicles.
Vehicles must park in the provided parking lot. Spectators will not be allowed inside or outside the fenced perimeter of Worthman Field and MUST stay in their vehicles.
We understand the inconvenience this creates as a parent/guardian, grandparent, etc. wanting to watch and support your child. This will not be an easy task for our field supervisors if these guidelines are not followed. If spectators chose not to follow these guidelines, you may be asked to leave. We reserve the right to cancel any soccer game where these guidelines are not followed.
We hope that these restrictions will be lifted soon and will inform you as soon as more information on the current situation changes (hopefully for the better).
If you choose to remove your child from the Parks and Recreation Fall soccer league, refund checks WILL NOT be issued. However, a credit in the amount paid will be added to your account for future program registrations (minus $10 for the purchase of the soccer t-shirt). You can call Riverside Center at (260) 724-2520 to cancel enrollment.
Finally, treats have been a great way to celebrate at the end of a soccer game, however for this season, we have been advised not to do so. Sharing of water bottles and/or masks is not advised.
Games and Practices update:
