Decatur-Adams County Parks and Recreation has an AWESOME Youth Soccer program every fall. Soccer is a great way for kids to have FUN, develop motor skills, and meet new friends! It is our goal to provide a positive soccer experience for every child, regardless of skill level.
Players are separated into the following divisions
Boys K-2nd grade
Boys 3rd-4th grade
Boys 5th-8th grade
Girls K-2nd grade
Girls 3rd-4th grade
Girls 5th-8th grade
Teams are also separated by location (for practices): Decatur, Monroe, or Berne. This is to allow for less travel to weekly practices as Monroe teams practice in Monroe, etc. (all games are played in Decatur).
Decatur teams practice fields: Homestead Park, Worthman Field
Monroe teams practice fields: Adams Central High School
Berne teams practice fields: South Adams High School
Teams generally practice one evening per week, although some 5th-8th grade teams practice twice per week. Practice schedules vary by team and are established by our volunteer coaches.
This program begins registering very early in the year due to the large volume of players and volunteers participating. You will not hear from the Parks and Rec Department OR your team's coach until early August 2022. Coaches will contact players directly the week of August 1st to begin team practices.
All games will be played on Saturdays: August 20th – October 1st, 2022
(No games September 3rd).
Games are played in Decatur at one of the following locations each week:
Grades K-1st: Homestead Park
Grades 2nd-4th: Homestead Park or Worthman Field
Grades 5th-8th: Worthman Field or Bellmont High School
***Coaches will hand out game schedules and T-shirts at the first practice***
Our teams are coached by volunteers in our community. All coaches receive a discount on player registration! If you are interested in coaching, please register for the "Fall Youth Soccer Coaches" program online. All volunteer coaches MUST register for the "Fall Youth Soccer Coaches" program in order to be a head coach OR assistant coach.
