Summer Camp


The Decatur-Adams County Parks & Recreation department offers three different day camps each summer. Camps meet from 9:00am-noon. Each camp meets once a week for 3 weeks. Participants can sign up for one, two, or all three camps: Summer Camps are for Boys and Girls ages 7-12.

Basic Daily Camp Schedule:

9:00am Check In
9:10am Circle Games and Activities
9:30am Break into Cabin Groups for Stations
9:35am Station 1 (like canoeing, art, games)
10:10am Station 2
10:50am Station 3
11:30am Lunch and Announcements
12:00pm Pick-up

Camp Descriptions:

Camp Nuts About Nature: (Tuesdays at Kekionga Park)
Be part of an outdoor adventure at Kekionga Park! Learn about creepy crawlers, animals, and nature. We will also get to canoe, fish and explore the Rivergreenway Trail.

Camp Arts and Atoms: (Wednesdays at American Legion Park)
Use both sides of your brain at American Legion Park. Express your artistic side by drawing, painting and sculpting one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Then, learn something new through fun and safe science related experiments and activities.  

Camp Games and Grub: (Thursdays at Hanna Nuttman)
Participate in a variety of sporting and culinary adventures at Hanna Nutman Park. Play classic camp games such as Capture the Flag, Bonkers, and Goldrush. We will also learn to make tasty snacks you can prepare for your family and friends. 

Registration and Fees:

$30 per camp (per child)

Each Camp has a size limit of 40 participants

Camp Fee includes a summer camp T-shirt, all supplies needed for activities, and lunch.

Registration for 2019 Summer Camp begins registering on April 30th, 2019

program dates will be posted 2 weeks prior to registration.
